Some notes: the primary difference between the two (based on FM 100-60) is that a battalion-level ATGM platoon is "optional" with the IFV battalion while the APC battalion has an "optional" battalion-level recon platoon. In both cases I've assumed that the "optional" battalion-level assets are not present. Also, the IFV battalion does include organic ATGM platoons at company level while the APC company lacks such a seperate platoon so I've added their company-level ATGMs to one rifle platoon within each rifle company.
Finally, the MG3 Stands refer to the number of dice the stand rolls for small arms fire based on the number of platoon-level automatic weapons present (SAWs and GPMGs). In this case, the stands roll 3d6...ie this does not refer to the modern German MG3!
Based on FM 100-60 these OPFOR platoons only have 3x LMGs in each platoon. For point of reference Rifle Stands roll 2d6 (no platoon-level MGs), MG4 Stands roll 4d6 (~6 MGs) and MG5 Stands roll 5d6 (~9 MGs).Any advice, comments, and (especially!) corrections would be very much appreciated!
